How do Abralon pads work?
Abralon is an abrasive pad like sand paper that has a foam type backing. These pads come in different grits and tend to last longer than common sand paper. In addition, they can be used wet or dry.
Can I use sandpaper on my bowling ball?
Regular wet/dry sandpaper Is perfectly okay to use , it was used long before abralon came along. The grits are different and don’t have direct abralon matches. You can see how the sizes compare using my bowlers grit chart here. They Both do the same job.
How long do Abralon pads last?
There’s no set life for them it, if you use them dry they load up fast , if you wet sand they will last a lot longer. It also depends on coverstock types, how much pressure you apply etc. According to Ebonite their pads at the factory can do approx. 70 bowling balls.

What does 4000 grit Abralon mean?
